Exceeding internal expectations
Over years of freelancing and fruitful design partnerships, I crossed paths with a leader working in Thermo Fisher Scientific – a bio-tech company with a large reach and complex inner dynamics. The leader of this department frequently had to deliver large-scale, high-impact presentations to the internal departments. When he did need to present, he came to me to help take his content to the next level.
These presentations often communicated dense, complex diagrams, financial breakdowns, and strategic internal pivots which needed to be conveyed in a sensitive and high-touch format. The presentations I delivered for Thermo Fisher went above and beyond the internal expectations for quality and added a sense of authority and attention to detail in each of the forums where the content was delivered.
These Thermo Fisher slide designs involved a heavy, bold interpretation of the brand’s primary colors and visual techniques. I took a lot of inspiration from other branded materials including videos and the company’s website, but pushed these visual elements beyond the traditional and into a functional, yet beautiful stylistic theme.
These style choices often neared their breaking points when applied to some of the more complex charts and graphics required in various presentations. Despite the complexity, I was able to keep the brand and theme consistent with intentional usage of color, emphasis of white space, and by adhering to a mathematical and rhythmic visual hierarchy.
